Vanwassenhove Farms grew from a 4-H project into a farm dedicated to naturally raising Registered Berkshire hogs. Raised outdoors with ethical care and a custom, hormone-free diet, the hogs produce high-quality pork known for its rich flavor and marbling.

Welcome to Vanwassenhove Farms

At Vanwassenhove Farms, our story began with a single 4-H project and a love for animals that quickly became a lifelong passion. Over the years, we’ve grown into a working farm focused on raising Registered Berkshire hogs the natural way—outdoors, with room to roam, fresh bedding, and clean shelter. Our Berkshire pork is known for its incredible flavor, fine marbling, and tenderness, the result of careful breeding and ethical farming practices.

We believe in doing things the right way: antibiotics are only used in emergencies, and our hogs are never given steroids or growth hormones. Their diet is made right here on the farm—a custom blend of ground corn, soybean meal, alfalfa, and natural vitamins and minerals. Every step of the process, from feed to finish, is designed to provide healthy animals and exceptional meat.

Why Berkshire Pork Matters

Berkshire pork stands apart because of its taste and quality. Often compared to fine beef, this heritage breed produces pork with richer color and more intramuscular fat, leading to a naturally juicy and flavorful result. When cooked, Berkshire pork maintains its tenderness and moisture—perfect for roasts, ribs, and everyday family meals.

Our customers appreciate that each cut from Vanwassenhove Farms comes from animals raised with respect and patience. We focus on traditional farming values that keep both quality and integrity at the heart of everything we do. With us, you know where your food comes from and how it’s raised.

Supporting the Local Community

Vanwassenhove Farms has deep roots in Cabery and the surrounding area. Today, that same dedication guides how we farm, raise animals, and work with others in the agricultural community.
